I’m enjoying the apartment. But in all seriousness ... A joist should be able to handle this noooooo problem right?? I know the hardware is rated for a million times more than what I’m subjecting it too. Genuinely planning on getting a legit swing set, with carabiners for a super quick install/takedown process.

I won’t kink shame your sex swing, just make sure the bolts stay tight.

If I had a shop I’d put that in it. Right next to “measure twice, cut once, fuck it up, measure it three more times, cut it again, battery dies mid cut , swear profusely, put ‘er on the healing bench and grab a beer”

That is a set of joists together which act as a header to support the floor above. It’s probably not going anywhere but it is engineered mostly for a static vertical load, not a twisting load. Doesn’t look like the span is wide enough but it would be safer to swing in line it.

Assuming you got good purchase with those lag bolts, yes this seems fine. More than a grown male (220 lbs.) and I might start to question your decision.
I think the problems you might have would be related to the repeated twisting of that joist since you’re grabbing from the side, not the bo ttom.
Wait, is that a massive solid beam or is it a drywalled, something else? If it’s a large beam , everything I said above is moot, a beam of that size should be able to handle quite a bit.
Also, this is a sex swing, isn’t it?

That was my main concern. I guess if I start seeing cracks in the walls I'll find a different dumb home project to occupy my time!

I wish I could x-ray vision it and see exactly what's going on. If only I had that industrial loft with exposed beams I've always wanted.
Gymnastics rings! But like... I’m legitimately looking up swing set swings now.

Oh man, you didn’t opt for x-ray vision glasses last time you were at the optometrist, you’re missing out!

Assuming there is bridging in place at the mid span it should resist the twisting okay too. But yeah I’m lime is better.

As a professional safety engineer, I would have to advise against this.
However, since I’ve had 20 broken bones in my life, you probably can’t trust my safety advice.
